Hereditary Peerage Association
THE COMPENSATION CASE
It is understood that the Compensation case brought to the European Court on behalf of a number of peers by Mr Peter McCallion was rejected principally on the basis that the statutory period within which such a claim could be brought, had expired.
It is for consideration as to whether a claim could be revived on behalf of all peers ejected from the House if, as has been suggested, further reform takes place under which peers to be ejected, whether life or hereditary, receive compensation.
