Lord Trefgarne's Bill:

Lord Trefgarne's 'Succession to Peerages Bill' which basically allows for peerages to devolve on a daughter where there is no male heir, has now achieved Second Reading in the House of Lords although no date has been set for line-by-line scrutiny of the Bill. It is apparently felt that the Bill may not progress further but those noble lords outside Parliament who feel strongly about a bill which aims to preserve the peerage, should contact sitting members of the House and ask for further action.
